From a Facebook whisky group "For investment, still go for older and rare Macallan, Yamazaki, Hibiki and Karuizawa. You gotta look at that the asian market wants. They are the only people can push up the price."

It wasn't today, it was yesterday. I took my 85 year old mother to Curry's to buy a new television. I convinced her to get a smart tv, all singing all dancing. So on the way home she said can you pop into Aldi and get me a litre bottle of Highland Earl. So I did. Anyway I set the tv up and spent half an hour explaining how everything works. I could tell she wasn't listening and couldn't give two monkeys as long as the channels worked. At the end I said "Did you understand all that Ma "? And she said "I need a whisky "  and pushed me to one side. That is my whisky quote of the day.

Well, your mother certainly knows what was more important; listening to you or drinking a whisky!wink

This is from facebook again , Macallan Collectible Society  lol

Alternatively they have the Sherry 30 Year for £600 for 50ml. This is a great deal!

It took me 12 years to understand Glenlivet.  It is very light and if you have heavier flavored whiskies prior, you will miss a lot of the subtlety of the whisky.  Me, I would say this about the current Ardbegs.  They are lacking the layering that it used to have.

Well, this fresh bottle is different.   Much more forward with the sherry.  Do you think they've changed the formula?
