Irish comedian Sean Hughes has died at the age of just 51. Very sad R. I. P  Sean.

Joe Carbury.

The world may not know him but pretty much any Calgarian older than 10 would've grown up intimately familiar with Joe's distinct voice.  The Calgary Stampede Chuckwagons just aren't the same without him.

Gord Downie.  This is a sad one for Canadians.  He was an national icon.  It was brain cancer, so we've known for a little while it was coming, but it's still terrible news.  He was 53.

To quote BB King, "The thrill is gone."  Fats Domino, who found his thrills on blueberry hill, has moved on.  Ain't that a shame.

The fast and the furious.  Robert Guillaume has passed.  While many 50 year olds will remember him as Benson, younger folks will remember his as the voice for Rafiki in the Lion King.  For me, he's also the Phantom.

He just finished the first of his life sentences.

I've never understood the "correctional" system of the US, so I wonder how he will serve the next 8.

The really fun part is that he received the death sentence.  Subsequently, the federal govt declared it unconstitutional followed later by repeal of this declaration.  However, anyone that had the death penalty rescinded and moved to a life sentence could not have the death penalty reinstated.

I believe the extra terms whether it is life or multiple terms of XXX years are really to represent each victim.  That is, Charlie was responsible for the death of 9 people there are 9 verdicts.  Useless in terms of not being able to serve each one but the families of each victim might find solace in that Charlie had a life sentence for their family member and it wasn't something for just the "other" guy.

Of note in the US, Terry Glenn passed away in a car accident at the age of 43.  He was a former NFL player.  Also Della Reese age 86, born just 5 days after my mother.  RIP both of you.  May your family and friends find peace.

The hits just keep coming.  Jana Novatna, 49 - cancer.

Rodney Bewes has died. One half of the Likely Lads Bob Ferris. One of my favourite sitcoms of all time. R. I. P

I will definitely raise a glass while watching a classic episode.

David Cassidy... at 67.

More of an idol to my sisters than to me, but as he brought them joy I'll raise a glass.

He wasn't an idol to me but he was entertaining.  A glass to you tonight.

Also, what happened to celebrity deaths in threes?
