While blends are not in the base it probably makes sense discussing them separately at least not to omit the affordable ones which are worth trying.

Blends are in the base for sure. Take a look at Whiskymenu > Scotland > UD ....

Thanks, some surely are but the data is very limited.

I personally prefer malts, but we cannot ignore that 90% of whiskies are blends and not all of them are rubbish. Ballantine`s 17, for example, I find enjoyable.


The more info we have the better we can define what is good and what is not happy
