Corrections in Octomore bottle info

Fellow Octomore enthusiasts,

I have noticed some slight inaccuracies in Octomore bottle datsa on this site. Would anyone care to corroborate before I make changes and potentially confuse things more? ;P

1) Correction of Octomore 7yo Rest & Be Thankful 64.4% French Oak Cask (307 bottles, cask  2008000911) (link)
This bottling was in 2015, not in 2016.

2) Correction for Octomore 6yo Rest & Be Thankful cask 897 (link)
This is listed as 65.8% and 227 bottles, but I think this is wrong. See page 15 of this pdf on the website of La Maison du Whisky. I think the info was incorrectly copied from another RBTW bottling (this one).

3) I think the Octomore CS Farmhouse Collection is doubled in the list.
As they are both from the same cask, I really do not think they are different. Here and here.

4) Lastly, I submitted the Valinch Octomore Birth bottling. I think this is missing from the list; I hope it appears soon so I can add it to my wishlist (I sent it for review to the admins). See here, 7th bottle down.

Cheers!

I think you should go ahead and make the corrections as it seems you are more knowledgeable than most on the Octomore's, Lord Octomore!

Hi,

As soon as I get my new cabinet and can get my bottles out of the storage room, I will update what I can (sadly I do not own the cask 897 bottling, so I cannot verify with 100% certainty).

I did not yet manage to get one of the CS bottles removed (or have them merged), but I did receive a reply that the Valinch bottling is actually on the site. I asked whether it could be added to the Octomore list.

Cheers

Slight update:

1) Pending the receipt of my new cabinet and the retrieval of my bottles.
2) I first want to see one of these bottles in real life to confirm 100%
3) The labels are slightly different label, as one of them has "Private bottling - not for resale" printed on it. Both come from the same cask though, so one could argue the significance of the label. The admins decided to keep both bottles in the list.
4) The Valinch bottle is not an Octomore, but a bottling at Bruichladdich to commemorate the first distillation of Octomore in 2002. I still want it as part of my collection, but it is correct that it is not in the list here.

Cheers

If you think that the details are wrong you can always use the "edit" tab and submit your proposed changes.  As you note the distillery did not classify the 2002 valinch as an Octomore - the first official release would have been the futures series.

I will certainly make the changes once I have access to my bottles again. The RBTW bottlings do not excel in clarity on the internet. I currently own all but three (soon to be all but one) of them, so I can make the changes needed and submit a clear picture to the admins to substantiate the changes. For the cask 897 bottling, I cannot yet be 100% certain, as I am yet to see it in real life. The closest I have come so far is the image in the 2015 LMDW catalog.
