Would be interesting to here from fellow collectors and drinkers. Lets get this group going.

1)Which is the rarest Japanese whisky you have (in your opinion)?

2)Which is the most attractive bottle you have (in your opinion)?

I will kick off with

1) Hanyu the first version of the ace of spades and the Monochrome Joker.

2) The most attractive, well difficult, I think the Karuizawas take a bit of beating, especially the Geisha labels, but the

Hibiki 21 yrs old Mount Fuji is a lovely bottle.

Over to you ....

I think the rarest I have would either be the Yamazaki 25 year bottled in early 2000's (distilled 1970s) or the Karuizawa cask 7752 (which is rarely seen at auction or otherwise).

The coolest looking bottle would probably be my already-opened Karuizawa cask 6056 (1981 TWE bottle).

Blimey that is rare only 22 bottles and an unusual label to match.

The price of this one must have rocketed !!

The only downside to these rare and expensive whiskies is that you never get to taste them

The only way to get a bottle was through a lottery in Japan. 20 bottles, two bottles stayed in the Archieve of Nonjatta.

Its the rarest Karuizawa ever released. You see one of those bottles on my profile photo.
The price was about 140€ inc. shipping and Swedish tax. Thats a bargain wink

Its hard to say, havent been on an auction i a year and a half i think.

But i think well over 10000€.
Another bottle i have, Karuizawa 1967 cask #6426 for LMDW was over 21000€ at Bonhams auction in HK last weekend.
Crazy prices really...

1) I won't say it's any of my Karuizawas. It's the Ichiro's choice Kawasaki grain 1982.

2) It's really a tie between the Karuizawa 1982 #162 and the Hanyu Ghost (no. 3)

2) Ghost #3 and #4

1) Rarest would be my Yamazaki Owners Casks and Ghost #4.  I have only a modest collection.

In a flip of Question one, I have to say that I am usually quite disappointed with the labels of Hanyu and Chichibu.  Why not pay a little more attention to the that detail is baffling to me.  But I am a slightly OCD collector.

Just got hold of a Yamazakura 15yrs old Sherry Cask one of only 20 bottles produced. Is this the lowest production

of whisky? Label nothing to write home about but an unsual distillery.

I know this distillery is not up with the Karuizawa and Hanyu , but the way things are going, anything from Japan is going through the roof pricewise..

Hi everbody I hope, that some bottles from my collection was rare and i was proud to have it. I dont know the real rarest bottle. But one of the coolest is Hanyu nice butt But many others with Sumo- Geisha- and Samurai-Labels are very cool too. I dont understand, why Chichibu dont make a Yokozuna-Serie like The Card Serie of Hanyu. Many Collectors will buy it, if exist!

Hi from an Irishman living in Philippines and China.

1 - Rarest? Maybe the Hakushu 18 in the bamboo box, or the special edition Mars Lamigo Monkey with the bag, box and baseball. I do also have 2 x Nikka G&G Samurai, but not sure if they would be just as rare.

2 - Most attractive - Fujikinran Pure Malt 2019

Feel free to browse my collection (about a third of it listed on here so far) and let me know if I'm wrong about these!
