This has to be the 20yo 62%,a stellar whisky. I´ve drammed one bottle, the second one is on the way down and one more is waiting for me on the shelf. These all 3 were bought when the price was about 160€ á bottle. At this time i can thank myself for doing thathappy

My best is the Talisker 25 2006 at 56.9 %.  Picked it up at a local shop cleaning the cellars.  Payed a little over 100 E for it.  happy But
the 10 and the distillery edition are always top.

That´s quite difficult. I would say same over here. I love the Talisker 25 destilled in 1981 and bottled in 2006 as fop do.

Secondly I will go for the old 10 map bottling, real chilli-catch, becoming more and more favoritewink.

My best Talisker (so far) was the 20yo from 1982 followed by an 18yo bottled around 2005.

@ASwhisky: how would you rate the 2004 bottling compared to the 2001? They are both sherry cask matured and basically have the same rating in WB. I don't imagine them to be that far apart...?

I agree, Talisker 1981, 20y Sherry has to be one of the best whisky ever.

Talisker 1994, Managers' Choice is my second place.

I haven't tried any other really rare Taliskers yet, but I had an epiphany when I tried the 1994 Managers' Choice.

1994 Managers' Choice is a good choice because of the sherry cask.hope that you may like it.

Tasted Talisker 1981 20yo last week.
Am I allowed to say that this is great whisky, but not my best Talisker... ;-(

It feels like my favourite profile of Talisker has been drowned in sherry.
Unlike, e.g. the Lagavulin 21 (2007), the Talisker spirit is not strong enough to maintain it's original charakter.
Water works well on that (at 62% vol. anyway), but personally I think that a re-fill Sherry butt is serving the purpose of maturing Talisker much better. The 25yo 2004 release is more to my liking.

For me the best Talisker is the 25 1981-2006 56,9%. I tried other 25's but the 1981 still beats others even the 30! Still I would love to try the Talisker 35.

Same as Falnor, the 25 yo 2006 is just excellent!

Sorry to break the illusion ,but this one is not vintage 1981. No vintage on the label. It's 25 year old Talisker, meaning that the youngest whisky in this bottling is 25 years of age.
