Just thought I'd do a general health check on a few bottles - most I
bought with a view to drinking later so didnt check at point of
purchase.
Two Springers I have I've noticed fairly heavy deposits.
A
12 year old cask strength (58.5%) lots of small dark particles and a
dark hazy sediment have formed in the bottom of the bottle. Bottled in
2010 so distilled around 1997/98.
The two bottles of single cask (cask 789) distilled in 1997 and bottled for Oddbins - similar sediments.
Springbank only do a barrier filtration so I guess its possible for cask dusk and particles to get through?
The bottles weren't expensive and are for drinking - but should I be concerned with the contents?
If not, any idea's on decanting whisky!!!
