Nose

Sweet and fragrant, almost perfumed, on gentle flowers such as wild violets and fresh lavender. It is ever so gentle and pleasant. In the background I find gentle smoke and dash of brine. All this is reminiscent to smoked herring by the sea shore. I also find some light vanilla sweetness.

Taste

Honeyed arrival, followed by exploding spiciness in the middle and towards the back - cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg.
The body feels a bit thin, but at the same time has a creamy texture and clinging well to the palate.
The whole feels very complex with all the aromas and flavours well integrated without one being predominating.

Finish

long lingering, and perhaps the high point of this Bowmore. sweetness is followed by pepper onto nice cedar wood (like licking cigar humidor).

Comments

It is a demanding dram. develops with time and requires full attention to pin down the components in the palate. Far from disappointing, I would have liked the palate to be a bit more revealing.

Schuhsohlenkleber, Frucht und Holz

Taste

Comments

für einen 18y bietet er zu wenig
der 15y Bowmore überholt ihn mit Leichtigkeit
doesn't make me nervous but okay

unforgettable whisky takes you on a journey, gives you new dreams, awakens your forgotten dreams, moves you out of time.....

Hans-Ludwig Note

Nose

A fascinating blend of strong smoky and lemony notes, along with a slightly less strong salty sniff. Underneath it all, a mix of bonfire, medicinal sweetness, tar, toffee and vanilla.

Taste

What taste? Nothing happens... Oh, wait... There we go. Almost. Initial taste is weak and slow, with only slight touches of apple, fruit, honey and lemons.

Finish

The aftertaste is where it all comes together, though. After a while, the burned sugar comes, along with honey, smoke, tar and toasted apples.

Comments

A slow and weird dram, but by no means unpleasant. Can't call it complex tjhough, just... strangely unbalanced. I didin't even know whisky could be this skewed.

"classic" bowmore violet/perfumy notes.
not totally undrinkable but still a shame!

Chestnutoloroso sherry
Nose

Campfire smoke with a quite sweet touch. The sherry is excellent integrated in the peat. You can also realize the sweet milk chocolate and the darker fruits of the sherry influence. Raisins, some plums. Maybe some notes of tobacco!

Taste

In the beginning quite fruity, but getting more sweet. The peat level is not comparable with the nose. It has decreased. Again obvious dark fruits like the nose. The taste of the milk chocolate rises... Just delicious!

Finish

Long in the aftertaste! Sweetness remains

Comments

It is one of the whiskies I recommend for someone who wants to begin with peated ones. Because of the sweetness and fruits which makes the peat more "tolerable"!
