You feel like you have in your mouth the fruit in alcohol. The palate is a whole in the fruit section: vanilla coating the tongue. juice concentrate and sweetened lime, kumquat and orange peel, rich notes of barley and a hint of pepper on the finish

Malty and fruity aroma, apple pie, pear, vanilla, honeydew melon, cashew
nuts, dry hay and cloves. Vanilla sweet taste, black pepper, lemon,
green apples, floral honey, banana, rhubarb jam and blackcurrants.
Medium long, sweet and spicy end.

Jonquiripe corn

Nose

Ananasovy kompot, nedozrály banán, vanilka.V druhé vlně máslovost v kombinaci se sladem.
Zdá se méně vyrazná a méně svězí, nez 1997, je potřeba v Glencairnu více hledat, bořit nos hlouběji do sklenky, ale naštěstí pak naleznete...

Taste

V chuti se mísí sladkost s kořenitostí, vše zaobleno máslovostí, po polknutí pak nečekaně vystoupí štiplavost a hřejivost.

Finish

Dozvuk je kořenitě nahořkly.

Po zkušenosti s verzí 1997 lehké zklamání (udělil jsem 87 bodů), přímé srovnání momentálně nemohu zajistit, sám bych byl zvědav na konfrontaci obou, ale na chutě a vůně mám snad docela dobrou paměť, takze vás tady nějak nemystifikuju.
První dojem po otevření lahve byl zklamáním, ale po opakovanych přechutnávkách se dojem zlepšil, asi jsme si k sobě s touto verzí našli cestu, ale do extáze je daleko.

The 2000 vintage of Balblair is intended to replace the well-regarded
1997 variant. Matured in first-fill American oak, this very drinkable
expression represents good value for the money. A pretty peach and
pineapple nose, with coconut and honeyed vanilla. Toasted marshmallows
with time. Relatively light-bodied, sweet, with lively spice, ginger,
and youthful oak on the relatively complex palate. Fudge in the finish,
and a contrasting hint of dark chocolate at the last.

Remember it\'s maturity that makes whisky great! That\'s why I Love The Glenrothes!

Color

Jonquiripe corn

Nose

Smells great - sweet - with hints of pineapple juice, Baileys cream, fresh tomatoes and I think there is some diesel.

Taste

Pear tart tatin with cinnamon, ginger, coconut shifters (like the Bounty chocolate) and hints of raisins in rum - sweet.

Finish

Not that long but smooth. Very warming with hints of white pepper and Himalaya salt. Water really lengthens the finish with a tad of spice & pepper.

Comments

A great quality malt for less value, I really like it! The fruity & floral flavors really change after a drop of water, everything seems to get a little more spice and better from the dosis of water.
