Pale straw

Nose

Smoky, petrol and salty. Iodine

Taste

Oily, smoky and salty, with a hint of sweetness. Spicy. Peated and again smoke at the and with unusual "kerosene" hint.

Finish

Medium to long with peat salty smoke and again "kerosene" sensation

Comments

More unusual than Laphroaig 10. A real Monster. Wonderful

Deep gold

Nose

Smoky aromas with notes of citrus, peat and malt with hints of honey, fruit and soft oak

Taste

A delicious taste of juicy, very sweet with peat moss and spicy herbs followed by a complex and elegant blend of fruit, heather, walnut, oak and spices

Finish

A long, pure finish of vanilla and a hint of cocoa and peat that the balance of bitter and sweet sustain

Comments

A whisky with a clear presence of peat followed by wonderful flavors and aromas that many fans will be happy. Benriach 10 Year Speyside has the typical characteristics and with the addition of a little water extra delicious!

Nose

Parádně silná rašelina vás ihned udeří do nosu, ale není to jen rašilina, je zároveň přelitá medovou sladkostí a navrch je vše pěkně opepřené.Tak tohle můzu...uhhhhm.

Taste

Tak tady jsme pro změnu o patro níz, za vůní totiz zaostává, je silně pepřová a přidává se dubové dřevo.

Finish

Naštěstí ji zachraňuje lehce jodová dochuť,takze pokles není vyrazny.

Nose: peat & smoke
Palate: straighforward peppery attack, then surprisingly balanced peat with vanilla undertones
Finish: long, oak and again well balanced peatiness

Underrated whisky, fits right in between the `phroig and Ardbeg of the same age. Nice!

Does anyone know why this is the only 46% Curiositas version on the base and all others are 40% ? The monitor lists most years with 46%, but 2010...? Maybe american/750ml versions ?

Chilli powder on the nose, followed by charcoal on the tongue.
It just tastes like a let-down, though.

Enormous peated smoke surrounded from flowers (heather). Well balanced between bittersweet peat and spicy oak. A middle palate directly changes from smoke to oak, nice really nice.
