Color

Old gold

Nose

Oak and vanilla. Pineapple. A little salty. Malt and a hint of chocolate.

Taste

Oily. Peppery and spicy and a little salty. Also the sweetness of vanilla.

Finish

Delicious bitterness (pepper). After that the sweetness from vanilla and some candied fruits. Medium.

Color

Nose

Vanilla and oak. High alcohol makes it sharp. Better with water. More fruity notes then, much more accessible. 

Taste

Vanilla again, also something like clay or maybe damp wood. Sharp again, but this disappears after a while. Very tingly and warming. Fruit at the end. 

Finish

Could be longer. Vanilla and malt now, oak as well. The dampness is gone now, making space for more fruit. A good thing, too. Dies out quicker than I would have hoped.

Comments

An interesting expression. Much better than its 'regular' 15 year old brother to my opinion. The slight earthy note in the taste disappears quick enough for me not to be put off by it, after which a nice, warming sweetness remains.

Yellow gold

Nose

Neat: Malty and earthy, with a hint of vanilla and honey. With water: The same as Neat, but now working together better.

Taste

Neat: Powerful and sharp. Oak, vanilla and a weird grass flavor. With water: More vanilla, less grass.

Finish

Neat: Very long, burns my throat long time after drinking. With water: Still long, but a little smoother, to the better.

Comments

Much better than expected. Needs water.
