The first Organic whisky release from Bruichladdich. This is 100% organic certified by the Biodynamic Association. The motto `Anns an t-sean doigh` is Gaelic for `In the traditional Way`. Organic 2003 is a limited release of 15,000 numbered bottles.

Color

Pale straw

Nose

Soft, fresh and slightly spicy (like herbal tea). The nose also makes me think of elements of the forest (pine cones and some moss maybe?).

Taste

Lighty sweet, small bitterness and the influences of the wood. Again, a flavor that reminds me of pinecones.

Finish

Medium and spicy. A delicious tingling in the mouth.

"A fully organic Bruichladdich 2003, some of which was matured in new
wood to produce what they`re calling their creamiest ever whisky.
Somewhat confusingly, the marketing bumf proclaims this to be the
`World`s First Organic Islay`, before explaining that a century ago all
barley was organic. The name means `In the Traditional Way`,
incidentally."

Color

Pale straw

Nose

Orchard fruits, especially apples, giving off a strong aroma of ale.

Taste

Smooth and mellow some wood and barley but the sweetness and cream are still present. Only a gesture of water needed, if any.

Finish

Delightfully long and warming.

Just got this one at the Danish whiskyfear in Kolding, and it's simply good. Thet have done it again at Bruichladdich.....

Color

White wine

Nose

Unique with an intensive sweet smell of cereals. A combination of multiple grainy notes, bread and fruitcake.

Taste

Smooth and rich, neither sweet nor dry, with various types of cereals, malt, vanilla, orange and other types of jam. Some spices are coming up. Unique and totally pleasant.

Finish

Long and more on the spicy side.

Comments

Very good whisky and an interesting new experience, because it is something unique, different from all others. Otherwise it still tastes like a young whisky. I believe that the Organic and also the Port Charlotte will be total winners after 15-20 more years in cask. The potential of new Laddies is often underestimated.
