Nose

Sweet vanilla, honey and a hint of pears. Also some sharp alcohol 

Taste

Senters sweet, then turning to herbs and vanilla followed by a peppery taste of spices.

Finish

Long and spicy with a sweet end

Sweet and flowery in the nose with a hint of vanilla. As for taste: herbs meet spices. A very warm and enjoyable dram! I was afraid this one would be too young but reality proved me wrong!

Color

Nose

Sweet, clean and fruity at first nosing. Notes of bananas and oranges, caramel, maple syrup and hints of heather. Very nice.

Taste

First mouthfeel: Balanced, more oaky and spicy as expected from the nose.
Notes of white pepper and salt, honey and caramel as well as oranges. Definitely has some smoke as well, which makes it a little dusty and dry despite of the honey.

Finish

Long and pleasant.

Color

Pale straw

Nose

The nose is creamy and honeysweet. The first thing that hits me is banana and vanilla ice, whipped cream and waffle included. This is a veritable banana split! I am mere seconds away of putting a little paper umbrella in my glass. A hint of heather and pepper and after some hand warmth a trace of smoke appears. The whole remains fairly soft.

Taste

On the palate, it shows more body. Not as light as I feared. Somewhat waxy, again very sweet and heavily spiced. The pepper and heather put their foot down. Midpalate, I get a salty twang and a smokiness that entertain the palate.

Finish

The finish, that can be called long, puts the sweetness back in the picture, surrounded by a cloud of smoke.

Comments

It is a rather strange HP, compared to the official releases. But with the sun coming out these days, this is the ideal whisky to sip in the garden with some friend.

Pale straw

Nose

Sweet and sugary, with banana as the main theme. Banana ice cream or those lovely banana / whipped cream pastries. Hints of pears and white chocolate and delicate heather / wax on a second level. Delicate, light and enjoyable but youngish and not too wide.

Taste

Creamy and sweet, but also surprisingly spicy (pepper, hints of salt as well). Barley sugars. Pear drops. A hint of heather. Delicate smoke as well.

Finish

Medium long with the spicy / soft herbal notes and sugar sweetness lasting longest.

 

Comments

Very youngish and it has virtually nothing to do with the official profile. But it's definitely nice, sweet and pretty summery too.
