Color

Jonquiripe corn

Nose

The nose is prickly and herbal. I get hay, buttercups, wood shavings and even a touch of peat, albeit quite light. Very alcoholic, though. Cloves and liquorice. It takes a while for the fruit to get to the surface. Apple, white grapes and a slice of mandarin. Hazelnut, caramel and malt. Drying.

Taste

On the palate, it turns very fruity. Maraschino cherries, apples and pears. Light hints of citrus. Loads of liquorice and black pepper. Great woodsmoke. Hints of vanilla and a lot of caramel.

Finish

The finish is very long and spicy, on hay and grass, but also cereals. The mouth is left dry.

Comments

I do not know if this is any traditional Glenmo, but I do know that it is a beauty.

Color

Pale gold

Nose

The cleanest of malted barley with tinned peaches and light custard. Fresh and faintly floral like a mountainside in a summer breeze. There's a gentle creaminess too.

Taste

The initial attack is fruity, like a fruit cocktail dusted with chunky grains of refined sugar. hen the sugar melts into the fruit and sets your mouth to watering.

Finish

It remains clean, sweet and fruity to the end. Even at full strength this is eminently drinkable. No harshness or loss of control.

Comments

Personally I think people underestimate this one. It is subtle and retains youthful notes, but it is a great drinker.

It's better to have drunk it all than never to have drunk at all.

Deep gold

Nose

Undefinierte Frucht in der Nase, leichte Exotik, zarter Anklang von Mangos, Pfirsichen und Brataepfel (ohne Zimt)
Der Alkohol ist in der Nase gut eingebunden.

Taste

Der Koerper ist relativ verschlossen, wenig Holznoten, Getreide mit ganz zarten Anklaengen von Exotik (Banane?)

Finish

Der Abgang ist getreidig und zart fruchtig, am Ende prickelt der Alkohol doch noch einmal in der Speiseroehre.

Nose

Turpentine, blackberry and small nuances of wet wood.

Taste

First sweet with little notes of salt, but then pepper, pear and chocolate.

Finish

Pleasant and warm, but not very long and spectacular.

Comments

With water a warm and pleasant drink. Taste is mostly chocolate and vanilla and small notes of salt.

Fruity sweetness in the nose suggests, strong and clear. Orange and peach with a lot of vanilla delight on the palate. Pour a few drops of water in, is then much more enjoyable.

There are two different boxes for this whisky. One is closed and with hessian inside to protect the bottle and the other one is smaller with a cut-out so that you can see the bottle inside.
