Color
Pale gold
Nose
The nose is very rich and fruity with loads of good stuff like citrus,
vanilla, maraschino cherries, syrup waffles, coconut and even some chocolate
(Bounty?) and nougat. Wonderful.
Taste
The ABV means business on the palate, nice and feisty. But it does not
need water. It is very sweet and creamy. Reminds me somewhat of pastry. Ripe

The finish is medium in length, sweet and spicy.
Comments
This is a very exciting and feisty Auchentoshan, with the best a bourbon barrel has to offer. It is the kind of Auchentoshan that makes people tell me â€

Golden barley in color with a medium body.The nose is a gorgeous sweet vanilla with light woody influences followed by soft, warm honey flavors at the rear.The palate is initially woody, followed by hints of creamy vanilla with a light suggestion of tangerine zest. Now on the outskirts of Glasgow, when the distillery was first built in
1823 it was some miles from the city. It is a traditional Lowland malt
in that it is triple distilled, in fact it`s the only Lowland Distillery
left that triple distils. The spirit from the wash still emerges at 18%, 54% from the intermediate still and 81% from the spirit still. It
has always been highly regarded.
The Auchentoshan 16 year old single malt whisky is a limited edition
release of only 4,800 bottles. This malt has matured totally in
first fill American Bourbon casks and has been bottled at 53.7%abv.

Honey and vanilla with a nice woody note.
Taste
Sweet honey and vanilla with spicy wooden notes (like the nose promised) and some citrus hints.
Finish
A medium long finish again with that creamy sweet mouthfeeling
