Color

Old gold

Nose

Light & clean, very delicate, but malty, floral and hints of citrus. Very complex and hard to make sense of, but absolutely lovely.

Taste

So complex, loads of citrus and love heart sweets. Develops beautifully.

Finish

The softest and sweetest of sherbet.

Comments

It's not easy to make sense of this, but I wish I had a bottle to work on it.

 

It's better to have drunk it all than never to have drunk at all.

A special edition Yamazaki from Suntory, aged in a 480-litre puncheon cask, which allows the whisky to mature much more slowly than the standard 230-litre hogshead.

Color

Pale straw

Nose

Mellow and juicy. Lightly peated, artificial juicy fruit chewing gum aroma, grass and cereals.

Taste

Warming and sweet with a lovely peat flavor of just the right intensity. Also has a fresh sparkling lemonade component. Notes of white pepper, grain, malt and vanilla as well. Lovely.

Finish

Long with more vanilla developing and the other flavors from the palate lingering on. Totally pleasant.

Comments

A little shy on the nose, but the taste and finish are perfect in my opinion. Definitely a very good whisky.

Color

Pale gold

Nose

Leather bag, old horse saddle, light menthol, fresh bark ripped off a young tree, nutshell, wood varnish and a little bit of anise.

Taste

It starts with huge dose of sweetness, sweet tangerine, menthols, sour cherries, notes of grass, herbs and delicate white pepper notes.

Finish

Medium long, lightly hot with hints of anise and light menthol.
