Official tasting notes:

Nose: Opens with a macaerated dried fruit qualityand a flamed orange zest in dark chocolate style.
Palate: Opens sherbety, runs to a rich, sweetly spiced fruit character and more dried orange zest.
Finish: Dark bitter chocolate then running drier with cedar wood and tobacco lingering.

Tasting notes from Royal Mile Whiskies:

Nose: Rich, cinder toffee, stewed fruits (rhubarb, pears, and apples), dark chocolate with orange zest and chewy meringue. Then it get serious with a selection of sweet meaty notes and dusty leather.
Palate: Dry with a big helping of space dust sweeties. Still a good meatiness but this time it is topped off with fresh ground pepper. A little bit of woodiness tops it off.
Comments: Really tasty with a nice warming length to it. An old dram but the sort that young whiskies want to be when they grow up.
