Notes & Reviews

I_SPEY gave this whisky 92 points
Color

Pale straw
Nose
Very promising! Clear oak, but not excessively. Something of wax and graphite. Very light fruity and slightly citrusy.
Taste
First, yet again, the lemon and then almonds, with a slightly bitter(but nevertheless) perfect result. The fruit is extremely subtle present. With three drops of water the whisky gets more body; more spicy, with grapefruits and some "heavier" smelling lemon.
Finish
Long, with 'nice n sweet', slightly spicy flavor. When the glass is almost empty I suddenly smell the grapefruit again!
Comments
Very special whisky, actually an enrichment of my collection bottles. *****

Color

Pale gold
Nose
Warming with a fresh floral component (heather), fresh green pepper and the smell of dried apples. In the fore there are pleasant oaky and vanilla notes. A little varnish as well. Really nice nose!
Taste
Warming and a little light considering the age. The presence of the oak is even stronger than on the nose but not unpleasant. Vanilla. Spicy with ginger, fresh green and jalapeno pepper. Slightly sour as well, reminding of Swabian must (made from must apples).
Finish
Long and spicy with a moderate and pleasant oakyness.
Comments
My first Glentauchers and a very good whisky indeed.
