Nose

Dry. Light peat. Grass. Linseed, leather.

Taste

Lightly oily. Sweet. Lemon-zest. Lemongrass. Lightly malty.

Finish

Sherbet. Lemon-zest again. Grass. Appetising nutty dryness.

Comments

Lowland style.

Grain and a hint of Wine, cream of champignons, slight light wood

Taste

Grain and Wood, a hint of marzipan

Finish

long, backed by the alcohol, grain and wood again, bit bitterness

Color

Pale gold

Nose

lots of barley on the nose, cereals and quite a touch of oak.

Taste

rather oaky; even when compared with the Virgin Oak expression. Dried apricots and pencil shavings.

Finish

a medium to long finish with a toasted wood dryness.

Comments

a dry whisky with rough edges.

A relaunch in fancy packaging for Burn Stewart`s Deanston single malt,
previously famous as the whisky used in the much-missed Wallace whisky
liqueur. Trivia snitched from the Malt Whisky Yearbook: Deanston is the
only distillery in Scotland that is self-sustaining for electricity,
being equipped with a dam and a turbine.

I like my whisky old and my women young!

This is a nice creamy malt that favours a cube of ice to really bring out the flavours.This was on my wish list and it did not disappoint.

Pale straw

Nose

A lovely floral nose with a strong barley presence, also that new rubber smell with lots of caramel.

Taste

A nice creamy fruity taste, full bodied with citrus tones.

Finish

A nice long orange finish.

Comments

This is a lovely malt i got as a fathers day present off my kids

A good choice, a fresh barley smell comes into the nose, honey sweet and powerfull malt comes into the palate. A rather short finish forces you to take another dram and another dram.....
