Nose

A rich, sweet nose with notes of apricots in syrup, plum jam, cocoa, malt

Taste

Juicy and fruity, with notes of tropical fruit, orange zest, sherried peels, chocolate raisins and wood shavings

Finish

Toasty, tropical, oaky, digestive biscuits...

The revived Highland distillery of Glenglassaugh has launched its new â€�The
Chosen Fewâ€� portfolio of single cask releases with a 35-year-old expression
chosen by customer accounts manager Ronnie Routledge. Subsequent bottlings will
be selected by other members of the Glengassaugh team. Distilled in `1976, this
example has been matured in an ex-Sherry butt, and 654 bottles have been
released in non-chill-filtered, un-coloured format. Initially, an aroma of
tobacco and treacle, with sweeter and more floral note developing, plus spicy
Sherry. Substantial on the palate, with sweet Sherry and pineapple, honey and
spice. Oak, coconut and plain chocolate in the lengthy finish

Tasting Note

Colour:

Amber gold

Nose:

A nose packed with sweet barley sugar, peaches, pineapple and plums - giving way to millk chocolate, Brazil nuts, Oloroso sherry and toasty oak-spice.

Palate:

Soft and juicy, bursting with pineapple and mango fruit puree. Ample sherry, cocoa beans and toasted rich oak notes.

Finish:

Drying with gentle toasted oak, coconut and sherry.

Gin clear

Nose

part fresh part cooked tropical fruits, pine resin / beeswax, cinnamon, tobacco, mint, cereals, caramel-icecream, vanilla, somewhat meaty, (92)

Taste

dense, savoury & sweet with a slightly sour ting & sparkle to it at once, malty, tropical fruit, beautiful beeswax, (93)

Finish

much more beeswax now even, hints of passionfruit, beeswax sticks around for minutes (94)

Remember - whisky scores and impressions are highly subjective and situational by nature - so don't go and buy whisky according to someone else's taste...
