Amontillado sherry

Nose

Rum, Raisins, Marzipan, Calvados, Canned apples, oak and Rubber

Taste

Sweet entry, Powerful and growing taste of fruits with a waxy background and woody oak  

Finish

Long finish with bitter almonds and crushed grape kernels

Color

Amontillado sherry

Nose

Warming. Intensive flavors were extracted during the 44 years of maturation from the cask. Beautiful sherry and oaky, spicy notes are dominating. Ginger, beeswax, cake and coffee flavors contribute to a superb overall impression.

Taste

Warming and full flavored. This is not a heavy whisky, it is more the light and dry type. The oaky notes are dominating - coffee, toffee, a bit of ginger. Then there is sherry and beeswax. Very tasty.

Finish

Long and pleasant but not as good as nose and taste.

Comments

Excellent whisky, which plays in the same league as my favorite Glenburgie, the 1961 by Gordon & MacPhail. A clear recommendation.
