It need 20sec after opening the bottle, and the hole room is full of Sherry, Fruits etc etc. What a Whisky!!!

Color

Russetmuscat

Nose

Cireux et fruité, très fruité et parfumé (fleur d'oranger), avec de jolis quartiers de pomme fraîche. Il se fait plus capiteux à l'aération, plus lourd, plus sherry (dattes), épicé (mélange d'épices indiennes douces, cardamome, anis) et animal (cuir, viandox), le fruité glissant doucement vers des arômes exotiques (ananas très mûr, parfum poivré des graines de papaye).

Taste

Très fruitée, plus exotique que le nez, avec beaucoup de mangue, mais aussi une belle explosion de poivre blanc. Le fruité ne se résume pas aux notes exotiques, pas mal de fruits jaunes aussi (abricot, frais et en confiture), et toujours ces notes de cuir déjà présentes au nez.

Finish

Longue, fruitée et épicée, ne présentant absolument aucune astringence.

Comments

Un très grand malt qui a besoin de beaucoup de temps pour s'ouvrir.

Color

Auburn

Nose

Superb refill sherry - it shares a lot of influences with the LMdW bottling, but it's definitely more elegant. The fruity side is bigger (mostly tangerine, banana and mango) and there are more flowery notes (violets and rosewater with some dry flowers). Big hints of furniture polish and cake. More almonds. Rum & raisins. A delicate whiff of peppermint. The heavy sherry of the LMdW bottling made place for a more fragrant and more complex profile with a better balance. No smoke in this one. Water brings out more red fruit (lovely redcurrant) and amplifies the flowers. Really outstanding.

Taste

very rich with lots of red fruits but also apples and apricot marmalade. Leather. Hints of tea yet never dry. A bit of water makes it even more juicy with fresh figs and lush forest fruits.

Finish

Very long. The oak is easy to notice but it's not nearly as invading as in the LMdW.

Comments

This Longmorn is exactly how I like my sherry bottlings! One of the best sherried whiskies I've come across lately, so "Perfect dram" may well be the truth!
