Color

Deep gold

Nose

Tropical fruit. Pineapple, passion fruit, persimmon, cocoa, raisins, lemonade.

Taste

Citrussy. Hot zest, oranges, sour tangerines, ascorbic acid. Balanced all right.

Finish

Pungent, salty. Liquorice wheels (sweets)?, anise star, red pepper, grapefruit, orange rind.

Comments

A dollop of water releases the fragrances, makes the texture smoother, sparing your taste buds thereby. You can drink it either neat or with water - it's up to you. This dram will work fine in both cases.

A 1998 vintage whisky from the Pulteney distillery, home of Old Pulteney
whisky, bottled by Gordon Macphail at cask strength. This matured in
first fill bourbon casks before bottling in August 2011, one day shy of
its 13th birthday.

I like my whisky old and my women young!
