Color

Yellow gold

Nose

The nose reveals a lot of malt, orchard fruit (apples and pears) and gooseberries, but als osome crème brulée and a clear hint of smoke. This reminds me of some old blends. Of good quality, of course.

Taste

It is fairly creamy and spicy on the palate. Green banana, nuts and toffee. Good body. Sweet malt and again that old edge that I cannot put my finger on. Nice.

Finish

In the long finish, I get caramel, coffee and again that smokiness.

Comments

What a pleasant surprise. This is, after all, the Glen Garioch entry level malt, available for less than 40 EUR.

Warm, floral aromas balanced by rich, stewed pears and sweet malted barley

Taste

Creme brulee and sweet ripe bananas followed by soft oak and fruity pear

Sweet, medium to long

A unique Highland character resulting from the distillate in 2 parts to ripen, the first period in American bourbon casks followed by a period in Spanish sherry casks. Both barrels give some unique characteristics with the whisky. Bourbon whisky makes the softer and the sherry gives him more depth.

and peaty aroma, wet hay, floral honey, pear, grape fruit, engine oil,
cardamom, caramel and tea leaves. Vanilla sweet taste, pepper, malt,
floral honey and orange marmelade. Long, spicy and peaty end.

Nose

Šťavnatě medová, ovoce, slad, ořechy, vřes, ale i lakové tony v druhé vlně, zřejmě promlouvá alkohol. Vůně je opravdu pohodová a docela vyrazná.

Taste

První dojem je nasládly, ale na jazyku je vzápětí vystřídán ostrostí a dřevem, dost hutny dojem, tohle není zádny řídky čajíček.

Finish

Comments

Zkoušel jsem ji i s vodou (3 kapky na maly panák). Vůni to nijak nepomohlo, ale chuti ano, zesládla. Takze bych si vychutnával vůni neředěnou, a před napitím teprve přidal pár kapek vody.

For the character and the fact it`s only 12 years old this is a remarkable whisky. The remarkable thing is the taste is not constant but changes with time, mood and temperature. At 48% it`s also a damned good buy.
